The Lodge
Notes from The Lodge
Continued . . .

Internal Layout

Ground Floor:
  • The Hall: A wide staircase with elaborately carved banisters leads up from the centre of the hall, then splits into two, leading right and left to a full galleried landing. Formal portraits in oils are hung between suits of armour on the walls.
  • The Restaurant: Usually described as the dining room.
  • The Bar: It is furnished with leather armchairs and tables, and there are intimate nooks and crannies for privacy. There are also high leather-backed barstools around the bar counter. The dining room and the bar are on the ground floor.
  • The Lounge: Oak panelled from floor to ceiling with sofas and armchairs set around tables and armchairs.
  • Gaming room/Casino: Location not established.
  • Games and snooker rooms: Mentioned but not described.
Upstairs:
  • The Common Room: is extremely large.
  • The Bedrooms: (Tales from the Lodge - Brat). Just past the Common Room.
  • I.T. Suite: with the very latest state of the art technology.
  • Apartments: At the end of long corridors, apartments for John Carpenter and Madame Stalevsky.
Kitchens, drawing rooms etc. all have yet to be described. How many floors the house has is yet to be established.

Beneath the house:
  • Training cellars: At the end of a long a richly carpeted corridor a small door gives access to another corridor. It is low and dark, lit only by small bulbs spaced well apart. It is lined on the left hand side by wooden doors, each one with a small barred grille set into it - the rooms are really just stone cells.
  • Dungeons: for the use of the guests
  • A real dungeon: fully equipped with ropes and chains hanging from the walls and ceilings. There are stocks, a rack and strangely shaped contraptions. There is a rack on the wall holding about 20 crops and whips, hung by the tops of their handles.
  • The Secret Chapel: (The Brotherhood) The secret chapel of The Brotherhood is unknown to almost everyone at The Lodge, (members and housegirls alike).
  • Madame Stalevsky's special cellar.
  • Wine cellars and champagne bins.
  • Punishment cells: Implements of correction kept at cellar level.
There are corridors lined with doors which have small barred grilles set in them. Some of these are wine cellars and champagne bins, some of them are punishment cells, training cells and dungeons.

Characters:

The Owners:

  • John Carpenter: A venture capital consultant who specialises in Eastern Europe. He introduced his own woman, Caroline as a housegirl.
  • Carlos: A mysterious South American. He has piercing blue eyes, grey hair, and a South American accent. He provided two girls for a month at the opening of The Lodge. Has never been referred to again, or described in any greater detail.
Personnel:

At present, the personnel who have been identified are:
  • Madame Stalevsky: Forty-odd years old, tall, blonde, Russian. Firm breasted, with a muscular body and long legs. Surprisingly large breasts for so tall a woman. Handsome, rather than a beautiful face, with fine bone structure. (Sharp, authoritarian face - Caroline). She is an ex-ballerina, fallen on hard times who was discovered by John Carpenter running a brothel in Bucharest. Still very athletic, she dominates her girls totally and owns one personally - Rosa. What precisely goes on in her training cellars, we have not been told to date. But all the girls worship her, whilst being scared of her too.
  • Yuri and Ivan: Identical twins; Russians and mutes. They are physically impressive, can handle armaments (The Brotherhood) and act as 'enforcers' for Madame's rules in the house (Tales from The Lodge). They are no strangers to the dungeons or the training cellars and take their 'perks' there quite frequently. They also keep an eye on the guests' conduct to make sure none of the girls comes to any lasting harm.
  • Rosa: (Tales from The Lodge, The Brotherhood) Madame Stalevsky's own personal property, but still works in the club on occasions, although Madame Stalevsky sometimes keeps her for herself for weeks on end. From somewhere in the Balkans. Discovered in a London Brothel by John Carpenter. She has dark hair, large dark eyes, very pale skin. Quite sturdily built, but shapely, a good handful but all in the right places. Tattoos on the back of each shoulder. On each side of her spine, sloping diagonally up and out there is the carefully drawn image of a scourge in sombre black. The thongs of each whip spread out across her shoulders. A heavy steel ring pierces her left sex lip, and from it hangs a chain, 5 inches long with a disc on the end bearing Madame Stalevsky's intials. Described in detail in The Brotherhood, in which she is kidnapped and forced to take part in a plot against Mr. Luther.
  • Lolli: (Tales from The Lodge, The Brotherhood) 25 years old. Intelligent university graduate. Originally The Headmaster's special girl. Now removed from The Lodge to be the mother of Marmaduke DuPont's son - the future leader of The Brotherhood.
  • Melinda: (Tales from The Lodge) Now purchased from The Lodge by Montague D'Arcy DuPont.
  • Irena: Chubby little brunette.
  • Marietta: Dark and petite, strong and sinewy. Alan Masterson's favourite housegirl after Brat.
  • Olga: Bigger and stronger than Marietta.
  • Caroline: (Tales from The Lodge)
  • Marie-Helene: (Tales from The Lodge)
  • Laura (Brat): (Tales from The Lodge, Taming the Brat)
Members:

  • Alan Masterson: Import and export.
  • Oliver Carlisle: Owns Breton equivalent of The Lodge.
  • Joseph Wright: Dark and petite, strong and sinewy. Alan Masterson's favourite housegirl after Brat.
  • Montague D'Arcy DuPont: Bigger and stronger than Marietta.
  • Richard Adamson: The Headmaster
  • Marmaduke DuPont (Duke): Montague's son.
  • Mr. Luther:

A Word from Silver Moon's Editor

The Lodge series of books just grew from the part 'The Lodge' itself played in 'Taming the Brat'. Like most disruptive, difficult and downright awkward things that happen round the Silver Moon office - it was Sean's idea.

What can I say about Sean that hasn't already been said; mostly in court and very little of it in his defence?

But having given my cautious assent to him developing a project that could be used by other authors, he went away and corrupted Falconer into becoming his accomplice, and so 'Tales from the Lodge' was born.

Falconer later tried invoicing us for the amount of beer he had consumed while in conference with Sean - but sadly I had to decline the request. I can only assume that the resentment he felt was transferred to the heroines of 'The Brotherhood' who were given a truly torrid time! Oh the needles! The hot wax!

Enter the demure, delightful, delovely Francine who said that The Lodge was the ideal background for a book she had on the go.... and now Amber is here. She is in Chains, of course. What else would a nice girl be wearing at The Lodge?

As if that were not enough, Sean has announced that now he has finished work on 'The Story of Emma', he is going to be starting work on a further Lodge title - it may be difficult to keep a good man down but it's impossible with a bad one - again keep your eyes peeled for a preview, from what he has told me, it should be a corker.

By this time I know your heart will be filled with pity for the long suffering editor who has to read all these tales of sexual depravity; all these scenes of ruthless men dominating poor innocent, luscious young women in fiendishly well equipped dungeons. But if you have tears - don't shed them yet. It gets worse.

I have seen the early chapters of what is at the moment entitled 'Brotherhood II' but which will acquire a fuller title in due course. Oh Boy, oh boy, oh boy! It's tough stuff.....so if you'll excuse me I'm just going for a cold shower. And once I've had that I'll try and extricate a few pages from Falconer's tight fisted grasp, even if it means I have to get Sean to buy him a drink.

Happy reading!
