As our books proclaim on their jackets, Silver Mink and Silver Moon are SM; first, last and foremost.
Virtually all the stories concern submissive females in the hands of dominant men.
Our readers know what they like and they trust us to deliver. As a broad definition,
the difference between the two imprints is that in Silver Moon stories the heroines discover
their submissiveness during the course of the narrative, whereas in Silver Mink they are generally
submissive to start with. In addition the tone of Mink stories tends to be gentler and more sensual than Moon stories.
Nominally Silver Mink is targeted at female readers, but from the feedback we receive
it would seem that most of our readers enjoy both imprints.
The majority of our readers are male so it is a good idea to start with a heroine's perspective on sex and SM.
Do keep your stories firmly based on those ingredients, it is why a reader will take your book off the shelf in the shop.
Don't let yourself get sidetracked into writing, for example, a whodunit with merely a background of sex and SM.
As near as possible give them a thrill on every page! If you find you've gone for any more than a couple of pages without SM and/or sex:
ask yourself what you're doing wrong.
A simple, strong plot element is all that is required, but like the sex act itself, a good erotic story should have a satisfying climax!
Do write your story as you feel it. The editor has his trusty blue pencil to keep things within bounds.
The only areas to avoid from the outset are:
- Under-age sex
- Animals
- Incest
- Neck constriction.
If your proposal is accepted to move towards publishing, we will require in the region of 75,000 words.
Initially you should submit the first three chapters of your manuscript in hard copy with a fairly detailed synopsis.
We regret that we are unable to return manuscripts which do not have return postage paid.
Subsequently the text should be submitted on disk, preferably in Plaintext form ( .txt).
All submissions are read and assessed thoroughly and fairly, but we do receive a large number of them so you will need to be patient.
The more accurately you write, the more favourable will be the editor's first impression.
Use a spellchecker if you have one, don't forget apostrophes and if possible print off your work and proof read it as you go.
Spellcheckers are only half the story!
This is the standard procedure for new submissions:
Please send the first 3 chapters in hard copy plus synopsis to:
